How we actually tested this
We created verified accounts with each bookmaker, made deposits, placed bets, and then submitted identical withdrawal requests of the same amount on the same day at the same time - a Tuesday morning, to avoid weekend or public holiday delays.
We tested both PayID withdrawals and bank transfer withdrawals where both were available. We recorded the exact time the withdrawal was submitted and the exact time the funds appeared in our bank account. All times below are averages of three separate tests per bookmaker.
We did not include the initial KYC verification time in our results - all accounts were fully verified before testing began. First-time withdrawals from unverified accounts will always take longer regardless of the bookmaker.

BetRight delivers instant withdrawals via NPP - and pairs that payout speed with the best racing product in Australia. Back a Saturday winner at Flemington and the money is in your account before the next race. No other racing-focused bookmaker combines this level of market depth with genuine instant payouts.

“Bet365 offers more withdrawal options than most punters realise - Apple Pay processes instantly, PayID clears within 1–4 hours, and their own Mastercard is instant too. For Australia's most popular bookmaker, the payout infrastructure is genuinely solid. Better than we expected from a large corporate operator.”

“Nextbet uses NPP to deliver instant PayID withdrawals around the clock. Request at midnight on a Sunday and the money is in your account within minutes. No batch processing, no next-morning delays - just the New Payments Platform doing exactly what it was built for.”

“Draftstars delivers instant NPP withdrawals and covers both traditional sports betting and daily fantasy sports. The combination of fast payouts and DFS is unique in the Australian market. If you play both formats, this is an easy account to maintain.”

PointsBet's withdrawal speed surprises most punters. Most withdrawals settle within 30 minutes - faster than many bookmakers that promote themselves as quick payers. Like the other fast payers on this list, PointsBet uses NPP (New Payments Platform) to achieve this, so your bank account needs to be NPP-enabled (Osko). Your account also needs to be fully verified and meet turnover requirements. Some withdrawals can take up to 24 hours if compliance or verification checks are triggered, but that's the exception not the rule.

betr processes withdrawal requests multiple times per day, 7 days a week - including weekends and public holidays. If your bank supports fast payments, you should have your funds within a few hours of submitting. PayPal is also available and typically clears within an hour of processing. Withdrawals are subject to verification and turnover requirements, and banks that don't support fast payments fall back to 1–2 business days.

Neds delivers consistent, same-day withdrawals in most cases. Not the fastest on the list but reliable - you won't be chasing support to find out where your money is. The Speedy Bet philosophy extends to their backend processing.
“Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?” · 18+ · T&Cs apply

“Sportsbet’s withdrawal speed is not a competitive advantage. For Australia’s largest bookmaker, the processing times are acceptable - but if payout speed is your primary criterion, smaller specialists are meaningfully faster.”

NPP - the infrastructure behind instant payouts
The bookmakers paying you in minutes aren't doing anything magical. They're using NPP - Australia's New Payments Platform - infrastructure built specifically for real-time payments between Australian financial institutions, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
PayID, OSKO and PayTo are all platforms that run on top of NPP. When a bookmaker like Dabble, Nextbet, Draftstars or BetRight processes your withdrawal via NPP, the payment lands in your bank account almost immediately. Over 100 Australian financial institutions now accept NPP payments - if your bank supports PayID transfers, it supports instant bookmaker withdrawals.
Traditional bank transfers work differently. They rely on batch settlement windows during banking hours - meaning a 3pm withdrawal can sit in a queue overnight, or longer over a weekend. The NPP eliminates all of that.
How to set up PayID: Log into your bookmaker account, go to withdrawals, and select PayID or OSKO. Link your phone number or email address from your bank account once - all future withdrawals use it automatically.
The cancel withdrawal problem
Here's something the betting industry doesn't advertise: many Australian bookmakers offer a cancel withdrawal button - a feature that lets you pull a pending withdrawal back into your betting account before it's processed.
Picture this: you've had a big night, you're up $1,200, and you've wisely hit withdraw before you do something impulsive. But there's another match on. The money is sitting in "pending." One click and it's back in your account.
That's not a feature designed to help punters. It's friction working against you - engineered to keep money in the system at the exact moment you're most vulnerable. We're not fans of this approach at all.
Bookmakers that use NPP-based instant payments eliminate this problem entirely. Once the payment fires, the money is in your bank. There is no pending state, no cancel button, no temptation window. That's one more reason instant-payout bookmakers are the better choice for punters who take their bankroll management seriously.
We're not fans of this approach at all. Bookmakers that get your money out fast and make it irreversible are the ones we back - and it's one of the reasons instant NPP payers rank where they do on this page.
Some bookmakers have refused this request in the past. If a site won't let you disable a feature designed to keep your money accessible for re-betting, that tells you something about their priorities - and in our view, it's a genuine red flag.
Why the software platform matters for withdrawal speed
Withdrawal speed is partly determined by the bookmaker’s internal processes, but it is also significantly influenced by the technology platform they run on.
ApolloTech-based bookmakers consistently showed the slowest withdrawal times in our testing - often 2–5 business days even for PayID. This is a platform-level constraint, not a policy choice by the individual bookmaker. Several smaller Australian bookmakers run on ApolloTech, including some that market themselves as “fast payout” operators.
BetMakers and BetCloud-based bookmakers generally perform better on payout speed. Dabble and BetRight’s strong results are partly attributable to their payment infrastructure investment on top of solid underlying platforms.
How to get paid faster - regardless of bookmaker
1. Complete KYC verification before you need to withdraw. The first withdrawal from any bookmaker triggers identity verification. Do this proactively when you open the account - upload your ID and proof of address immediately. Subsequent withdrawals bypass this step entirely.
2. Use PayID. As covered above - it is always the fastest withdrawal method available. Bank transfers add 1–2 business days to any quoted timeframe.
3. Submit withdrawals on weekday mornings. Payment processing teams operate during business hours. A withdrawal submitted at 9am Tuesday processes the same day. A withdrawal submitted at 11pm Friday may not be processed until Monday.
4. Keep withdrawal amounts consistent. Large or unusual withdrawal amounts can trigger manual review, regardless of your KYC status. Consistent amounts matching your deposit pattern are processed fastest.
