How we actually tested this
We created verified accounts with each bookmaker, made deposits, placed bets, and then submitted identical withdrawal requests of the same amount on the same day at the same time — a Tuesday morning, to avoid weekend or public holiday delays.
We tested both PayID withdrawals and bank transfer withdrawals where both were available. We recorded the exact time the withdrawal was submitted and the exact time the funds appeared in our bank account. All times below are averages of three separate tests per bookmaker.
We did not include the initial KYC verification time in our results — all accounts were fully verified before testing began. First-time withdrawals from unverified accounts will always take longer regardless of the bookmaker.

“Dabble processes withdrawals faster than any other bookmaker we tested. PayID requests were cleared in under two hours on average. The withdrawal interface is also the cleanest: no buried menus, no unexplained pending states. You submit, you wait a short time, the money arrives.”

“BetRight is the fastest racing specialist for withdrawals — consistently same-day on PayID. For racing punters who back a Saturday winner at Flemington and want the money before Monday morning, BetRight is the answer. No other racing-focused bookmaker comes close on payout speed.”
“Chances are you’re about to lose.” · 18+ · T&Cs apply
“Neds lands a comfortable third overall. PayID withdrawals cleared within half a business day in every test we ran. The Speedy Bet philosophy that drives their app extends to their backend payment processing too.”
“Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?” · 18+ · T&Cs apply
“PointsBet performs better than you’d expect from a bookmaker of their size. Large operators typically have slower processing pipelines — PointsBet has clearly invested in payment infrastructure. Not the fastest, but not frustrating either.”
“You win some. You lose more.” · 18+ · T&Cs apply
“Sportsbet’s withdrawal speed is not a competitive advantage. For Australia’s largest bookmaker, the processing times are acceptable — but if payout speed is your primary criterion, smaller specialists are meaningfully faster.”
“What are you prepared to lose today?” · 18+ · T&Cs apply
PayID is the fastest way to withdraw from any Australian bookmaker
PayID is a real-time payment system that uses your phone number or email address to direct funds instantly between accounts. It bypasses the traditional bank transfer processing windows that cause 1–2 day delays.
How to set it up: Log into your bookmaker account, go to the withdrawal section, and look for “PayID” or “Osko” as a withdrawal method. You’ll need to link your PayID (phone number or email) from your bank account. This is a one-time setup.
Which banks support PayID: All major Australian banks support PayID including Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, Westpac, NAB, ING, and most credit unions. If your bank supports PayID for transfers, it will work for bookmaker withdrawals.
The only exception: Bet365 does not currently offer PayID withdrawals in Australia. This is a meaningful disadvantage and one reason they rank lower on payout speed despite being a major operator.
Why the software platform matters for withdrawal speed
Withdrawal speed is partly determined by the bookmaker’s internal processes, but it is also significantly influenced by the technology platform they run on.
ApolloTech-based bookmakers consistently showed the slowest withdrawal times in our testing — often 2–5 business days even for PayID. This is a platform-level constraint, not a policy choice by the individual bookmaker. Several smaller Australian bookmakers run on ApolloTech, including some that market themselves as “fast payout” operators.
BetMakers and BetCloud-based bookmakers generally perform better on payout speed. Dabble and BetRight’s strong results are partly attributable to their payment infrastructure investment on top of solid underlying platforms.
How to get paid faster — regardless of bookmaker
1. Complete KYC verification before you need to withdraw. The first withdrawal from any bookmaker triggers identity verification. Do this proactively when you open the account — upload your ID and proof of address immediately. Subsequent withdrawals bypass this step entirely.
2. Use PayID. As covered above — it is always the fastest withdrawal method available. Bank transfers add 1–2 business days to any quoted timeframe.
3. Submit withdrawals on weekday mornings. Payment processing teams operate during business hours. A withdrawal submitted at 9am Tuesday processes the same day. A withdrawal submitted at 11pm Friday may not be processed until Monday.
4. Keep withdrawal amounts consistent. Large or unusual withdrawal amounts can trigger manual review, regardless of your KYC status. Consistent amounts matching your deposit pattern are processed fastest.
