The Broncos get a massive boost with Payne Haas back from a knee injury (his first game since Round 7). Back-rower Brendan Piakura also returns from knee. The flipside is that Kotoni Staggs, Ezra Mam, Gehamat Shibasaki and Pat Carrigan all back up from Origin G1 — Brisbane have named them but will monitor through the game. Jack Gosiewski returns from concussion and Grant Anderson from knee via the bench. Jordan Riki is the only out.
The Dragons get Centre Moses Suli back from a back injury and hooker Jacob Liddle back from hamstring — both significant. But Hayden Buchanan (shoulder) and Jaydn Su'A (calf) are OUT. Mat Feagai is the new winger replacing Tyrell Sloan and Christian Tuipulotu, both omitted. Hooker Damien Cook plays despite coming off early last week with an ankle issue.
$1.13 ML is unbackable. The interesting angle is the line. Broncos −19.5 expects a 20-point Broncos win, which is reasonable home-form maths, but the Origin-backup tax means Brisbane may rotate or rest their Origin guns from the 60th minute onwards. Dragons +19.5 is the value — they just need to stay within three converted tries against a Broncos team that may take its foot off the pedal late.
Broncos: Payne Haas RETURNS (knee, first game since R7). Brendan Piakura back from knee. Kotoni Staggs, Ezra Mam, Gehamat Shibasaki & Pat Carrigan backing up from Origin. Jack Gosiewski (concussion) & Grant Anderson (knee) back via the bench. Dragons: Moses Suli back from back. Jacob Liddle back from hamstring. Hayden Buchanan OUT (shoulder), Jaydn Su'A OUT (calf). Mat Feagai new winger. Damien Cook plays through ankle issue.
